Where healing grows, animals wiggle, and love lives loud.
Indi Acres didn’t start as a business. It didn’t start with a perfect plan or a Pinterest board.
It started with heartbreak. And a baby girl named Indigo.
Indigo Starr Lindsey was born early and tiny—just 5 lbs 13 oz—with a fierce will tucked into her little bones. She spent her first ten days in the NICU, learning how to eat after being diagnosed with a feeding intolerance. But once she got the hang of it? She never looked back. Our tiny bird became a chunky, giggling, blue-eyed force of nature. She loved food, her twin brother, jumping in her bouncer, and bossing us around with squeals and giggles. We called her Chunko Munko. Fatness Everdeen. Indi.
She was here for just six months. And then, in the quietest, cruelest way, she was gone.
Indigo passed away from SIDS.
There are no words big enough for the hole that opened up in our world that day.
The room she shared with her twin brother became a shrine we couldn’t breathe in.
The house became a wound we had to walk through daily.
We were still parenting. Still working. Still breathing—but not living.
We needed change.
We needed air.
We needed to get out.
But leaving the family farm—that was its own grief.
That home held generations. It held our childhoods, our beginnings, and memories stacked like photo albums in every room. It also held the weight of trauma, the echo of loss, and rooms we could no longer walk into without crumbling. Saying goodbye to it nearly broke us again.
And then came the limbo: the long, stressful weeks of waiting to close on our new home. Paperwork. Deadlines. Setbacks. Anxiety that sat in our chests like a brick. We were trying to hold our family together with string and stubbornness while our future dangled just out of reach.
Those were hard, raw days.
But still—we dreamed.
We dreamed of land.
Of bunnies and Boston Terriers. Of handmade things stitched with love. Of growing food and raising animals and turning grief into something alive.
We dreamed of a place where Indigo’s name could be spoken in celebration—not just sorrow.
We called it Indi Acres.
Today, Indi Acres is a patchwork of healing, chaos, and love.
It’s Boston Terrier pups and baby bunnies.
It’s chickens clucking and kids laughing.
It’s furniture flipped, crafts made with calloused hands, eggs collected at sunrise, and dreams sold under a tent at the sale barn.
Every animal, every blanket, every project has her light in it. Indigo isn’t just in our past—she’s here, in the fluff, the feathers, the stars above our porch. Her memory holds this land together.
Indi Acres is what happens when a family refuses to let loss define them.
It’s built on grief, yes. But also on grit, and glitter, and the quiet decision to keep loving loudly anyway.
Thanks for being here.
You’re not just visiting a website—you’re standing in the story. And you’re welcome here, always.
With all our hearts,
The Indi Acres Family

Indi Acres was born from grief—but it’s built on purpose.
This isn’t just a place to raise animals or sell handmade goods. It’s a space where we get to live out our values, love our community, and teach our kids what it means to do something meaningful with your hands and your heart.
Here’s what we’re building:
🛍️ Affordable, Handmade Goods with Soul
We believe beautiful things should be accessible, not just aspirational. Whether it’s a hand-sewn kitchen set, a cozy bunny, or a custom-made collar for your pup, we keep our prices honest. Because we know what it’s like to want something special on a tight budget—and we think everyone deserves a little handmade magic.
♻️ Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine
We don’t believe in waste. Much of what we create comes from reclaimed fabric, thrifted materials, and upcycled furniture. We love turning the forgotten and the used into something new—because second chances are kind of our thing.
🐾 Ethical Animal Care
From Boston Terriers to bunnies to our growing flock of birds, every creature at Indi Acres is raised with love, respect, and space to thrive. We do this slowly, intentionally, and with the well-being of our animals always at the center.
🤝 Community-First Always
We want Indi Acres to be more than just our homestead. We want it to be a resource. A place where folks can learn, connect, heal, and grow. Whether it's donating NICU quilts in Indigo's name, sharing eggs with neighbors, or offering low-cost goods at the local market, we're always looking for ways to give back.
💜 Indigo’s Legacy, Living Out Loud
Everything we do honors our daughter’s light. From the extra snack we always bring to a potluck, to the starry-night-themed NICU quilts we sew, to the way we welcome folks with soft hearts and open arms—this land feels her. And we want it to feel like home for others, too.
